Schools are letting out for the summer, which means no more homework — or free lunches for those students in need. The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is just one of many organizations filing the gap and providing summer meals. Sherrod Brown And Senate Dems Propose Expanding Earned Income Tax Credit
Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown and other Senate Democrats have introduced new legislation called the Working Families Tax Relief Act that would expand a tax credit for low- and middle-income individuals and families. The bill aims to broaden the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), which allows qualifying workers to claim a bigger refund. Depending on who’s filing, and whether they have kids, the credit can be worth a maximum of $529 for an individual with no children to $6,557 for an individual with three or more qualifying children.

Sarah LaTourette Leaves Ohio House for DeWine Administration
A Republican former state lawmaker from Northeast Ohio is taking on a new job in the administration of Gov. Mike DeWine. Sarah LaTourette left the Ohio House on Sunday and started work Monday as director of Ohio Family and Children First. The organization works with county-level councils to help kids who receive state services, such as mental health or foster care.

Report: Employers Hiring Fewer College Graduates in 2018
Across Ohio, colleges and universities are celebrating their spring commencements this month, with some like Ohio State University celebrating the largest graduating classes in their history, but a report from the non-profit National Association of Colleges and Employers shows both private and public sector employers expect to hire fewer graduates this year. “The employers said they plan to decrease their hiring by just 1.3 percent,” NACE Research Manager Andrea Koncz reported.
Man Who Sexually Assaulted Woman On Plane Sentenced To 9 Years In Prison
Prabhu Ramamoorthy assaulted a sleeping woman on an overnight flight from Las Vegas to Detroit on Jan. 3. The 35-year-old man was sentenced to nine years in prison on Friday.

Roxy Music’s first album featured a blend of glam, punk and electronics unlike anything on the radio in 1972. 46 years later, they made the Rock Hall on their first try.

Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein Announces Cleveland Effort Targeting Drugs, Violence
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein announced Friday the creation of a new task force in Cleveland aimed at taking down drug trafficking and violent crime. A mix of federal and local agencies – including the FBI, the US Attorney, and the Cleveland police -- will work in one building as the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Strike Force. “Those agencies have diverse capabilities,” said Rosenstein. “By working together with a single mission, we know they can make an impact in dismantling drug organizations here and internationally.”
