The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) reports statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations have reached their highest number since the pandemic began. The previous high was in late April. Federal Judge Sets October 2020 Trial Date In Pharmacy Opioid Case
U.S. District Judge Dan Polster has added a new opioid trial to the calendar, this one litigating Cuyahoga and Summit counties’ claims against pharmacy chains. Polster, who is overseeing the thousands of opioid-related lawsuits, set a trial date of Oct. 13, 2020 in an order issued Tuesday. Rare Disease Day Brings Doctors, Patients Together
Leap day only comes along every four years — and its rarity, advocates say, makes it the perfect day to focus on rare diseases. Tracy Greenberg has had mucopolysaccharidosis — Morquio syndrome or MPS4A for short — her whole life. But she was only properly diagnosed when she was 42 years old. She said she cried tears of happiness when she found out. "Some of my family members said, 'Why are you so happy? Are you happy that you have this disease?' And I said, 'No, I'm happy that I'm going to be treated for this disease because I have it no matter what.'"

Mentor-On-The-Lake Considers Relocating Overlook Due To Erosion Concerns
Mentor-on-the-Lake officials are considering moving an observation deck further inland to protect it from erosion. The area was closed off for safety concerns early this week. Overlook Beach Park has lost most of its beachfront over the years, said Mentor-on-the-Lake Mayor David Eva. This year’s high water levels and lack of ice cover on Lake Erie are taking the situation to extreme levels as the area around an overlook deck erodes. Service employees will assess the area when the weather improves, Eva said. That could be as early as this weekend or next week.
