President Joe Biden just can’t quit Ohio — even if it rejected him in last year’s election. The president travels to Cincinnati on Wednesday to push his economic policies.
A statement from Mount St. Joseph University says CNN will host a town hall with the president on its Delhi Township campus at 8 p.m.
The president is expected to cover the COVID-19 pandemic and the economy. This is his third trip to Ohio as president and many will be watching to see if infrastructure will come up with the failing Brent Spence Bridge nearby.
Ohio is the only state Biden lost that he has visited multiple times as president. Ohio was once an electoral prize that could decide who occupied the White House, but its embrace of Republicans has tightened over the past decade. The visit is a testament to Biden’s belief that going straight to voters will help to cross a barbed political divide.
Biden visited Columbus and Ohio State's James Cancer Hospital in March to promote affordable health care. He visited Cleveland in May to promote infrastructure, research and education as a part of his stimulus plans.
