Dublin City Schools Superintendent John Marschhausen is set to step down on July 31.
The Dublin Board of Education is expected to accept Marschhausen's resignation and appoint his successor at a special meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
Marschhausen has led Dublin City Schools since 2021 and was at the helm during the district's recent contentious redistricting process.
In a Tuesday afternoon letter to families, Marschhausen does not give a reason for stepping down but writes, "it is now time for a new leader to bring the school community together and focus on the future."
Marschhausen notes that it was an "honor and privilege" to work with district students, families and staff through COVID-19, passing a bond issue and operating levy, building additions at two schools and opening Bishop Elementary.
"I step aside knowing that our core values will remain the heart of the district's culture. The Dublin community is my home, and I know the amazing work of preparing students for success will continue," Marschhausen writes.
Before leading Dublin schools, Marschhausen was the superintendent for the Hilliard City School District from 2013-2021.
