Franklin County sends two K-9s to Minneapolis to support grieving community after mass shooting

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is sending two Crisis K-9s, which is a team of therapy dogs and their handlers, to Minneapolis following a mass shooting at a Catholic school Wednesday.

A spokeswoman for the Franklin County Sheriff's Office confirmed K9s Scooby and Titus, two Australian Labradoodles, are heading to Minneapolis to provide comfort and support wherever they are needed. The sheriff's office in Hennepin County, where Minneapolis is located, requested Franklin County's assistance.

A gunman opened fire during a mass at Annunciation Church, killing two children and injuring 18 other people. Fourteen of the injured people are children.

Franklin County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Darrah Metz leads the nationally-recognized training program for the dogs.
