Trial dates have been set for two law enforcement officers charged with murder in separate incidents.
The trial for Blendon Township Police Officer Connor Grubb is set for Nov. 3 in Franklin County Common Pleas Court. Grubb is accused of murdering 21-year-old Ta'Kiya Young and her unborn child at a Kroger store in August of 2023.
Young was accused of shoplifting at the store. Grubb shot Young in her vehicle as her car pushed forward.
Meanwhile, the trial for former Franklin County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Meade has been set for Dec. 8, also in Franklin County Common Pleas Court.
Meade was charged with murder and reckless homicide in the December 2020 shooting of 23-year-old Casey Goodson Jr. as Goodson walked into his grandmother's north Columbus home.
This will be the second trial for Meade after a judge declared a mistrial in the case in February of 2024.
The trial dates for both men were set on Wednesday.
