Former Ohio State defensive back Marcus Williamson is accused of robbing a bank.

Columbus Police say around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, Williamson, 25, went to First Merchants Bank on North High Street and handed a bank teller a note saying he had a gun and demanded money.

Court documents say the teller gave Williamson an unspecified amount of money and he left the bank.

Police saw Williamson leave the bank, first on foot and then in a blue Jeep Compass. He was eventually arrested. Police found cash during the arrest, according to court documents.

Williamson faces a felony charge of aggravated robbery.

He is being held on a $50,000 bond.

Williamson, originally from Westerville, played five seasons for the Buckeyes from 2017 to 2021. He was part of four consecutive Big Ten championship teams and went to the playoffs twice.
