Authorities are reuniting a 12-year-old boy with his parents after he was found unattended Monday morning inside an east Reynoldsburg Target store.

Columbus police said they were called to the Target, located at 8100 E. Broad Street, at 6:15 a.m. by a Target employee. Police said they first searched nearby stores to try and find the boy's parents, but weren't successful and contacted Franklin County Children Services.

Just before 12 p.m., Columbus police sent an update on the case stating the boy's parents had filed a missing person report Sunday.

"The child’s parents are happy that he is safe and that he will be returning home shortly," the statement said.

Police said no charges would be filed in the case.
