Columbus Metropolitan Library seeking $1.5 million additional continuing levy

Wikimedia Commons

The Columbus Metropolitan Library is seeking a $1.5 million additional continuing levy on the November ballot.

That equals to $53 for each $100,000 of the County Auditor's appraised value for a home or property.

It's estimated the new levy would generate more than $39 million during the first year of collection.

In 2010, Franklin County voters approved a $2.8 million continuing levy.

The library system is celebrating 150 years of operation.
