Classes canceled in Logan-Hocking schools after social media threat

Logan-Hocking School District

All classes in the Logan-Hocking School District have been canceled Tuesday after a threat was reportedly posted on social media Monday evening.

A one-sentence statement posted on the district's website said "Due to an ongoing investigation into a social media threat that was posted last night, all Logan-Hocking Schools will be closed today, Tuesday, May 16th." No other details were released.

Logan Christian School is also closed Tuesday.

In a May 5 post on Facebook, the Hocking County Sheriff's Office said they were investigating a screenshot circulating on Snapchat that detailed a possible school shooting. The sheriff's office said the message originated from Florida.

In another May 5 Facebook post, the sheriff's office said a bomb squad responded to what turned out to be a fake explosive device inside Logan High School.
