Former Ohio State football player Darron Lee arrested for assault

Former Ohio State football player Darron Lee has been arrested on charges of assault and domestic violence.

Franklin County Jail records state Lee was arrested Tuesday.

He is charged with two counts each of assault and domestic violence by assault. All of the charges are classified as misdemeanors.

Police have not provided details on what led to Lee's arrest.

Lee played as a defensive linebacker in Ohio State's Sugar Bowl victory over Alabama in 2015, which resulted in a national championship.

He also had a professional career playing on multiple NFL teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills and Las Vegas Raiders.
