A Columbus couple wanted on warrants accusing them of murder in the death of the woman's 8-month-old son were detained in New Straitsville by Perry County sheriff's deputies.
Columbus police say Savanna Dawson and Kyrios March will be transferred to Franklin County to appear in Franklin County Municipal Court.
Dawson's baby Marquel Smith died Monday after police were called to Hiawatha Street in the Linden neighborhood on reports he wasn't breathing, according to a police report.
The child was declared dead about 20 minutes later.
An investigation by the Franklin County Coroner's Office and the hospital where the baby was taken concluded he died from blunt-force traumatic injuries.
