Two people are dead and three others injured after a Monday evening shooting on Columbus’ far south side that police say involved at least two shooters.

The shooting happened outside the Landmark bar in the 100 block of Rumsey Road. Police did not immediately detail the circumstances leading to the shooting. As of early Tuesday morning police had not announced any suspects or possible motives.

“A lot of people fled the scene. We have a lot of people that we are talking to and at this point we don’t know who were victims and who were suspects and it may have been a shootout. So, we are trying to assess all that,” Columbus Police Chief Deputy Smith Weir told reporters at the scene late Monday.

Police say one victim died at the scene. Another died a short time later at a hospital. The three people injured, including one listed in critical condition, were transported to local hospitals.
