UPDATED JULY 11, 2022 AT 3:55 PM EST.

Multiple law enforcement agencies were called just before 5:30 Monday morning to what officers described as a domestic violence situation at the SK Foods warehouse on Toy Road in Groveport.

Groveport Police Lt. Josh Short told reporters a male suspect fatally shot a female employee multiple times in a locker area of the business before fleeing the building.

Police say the suspect in the deadly shooting died after he climbed a utility pole and came into contact with power lines.

In a statement, SK Food Group said, “Our concerns and thoughts are with our team members who were affected by this terrible incident – the two team members involved directly in the incident as well as our work family, at large. At this time, we can confirm that both individuals involved are deceased. We are doing everything that we can to cooperate with the authorities, and cannot comment further on the situation."

SK Food Group said they have enacted its Employee Assistance Program, which provides access to 24/7 phone consultation with licensed mental health professionals for any team member that feels they may benefit from those services.
