A federal jury has acquitted one former Columbus police vice officer and convicted another officer for conspiring to violate others' civil rights.

45-year-old Steven Rosser and 59-year-old Whitney Lancaster were indicted in 2020. The charges came as a result of an FBI investigation after the arrest of adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2018 and other incidents involving the vice unit

Rosser was accused of two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud for allegedly billing the city for special-duty hours that were also billed to a private business. The wire fraud charge was dismissed before the trial.

Rosser was found guilty of one count of conspiracy to violate civil rights, but not guilty on the second count.

Lancaster was found not guilty of the one civil rights charge.
