The Pickerington School District has reinstated the principal of Pickerington Central High School as an independent investigation continues. Stacey Tennenbaum resumed her duties Friday.

The district posted an online statement stating quote "we are confident that her presence in the building will in no way impede the ability of the independent investigator to conduct a fair and thorough investigation."

The school’s spokewoman shared an email Tennenbaum sent to the high school’s staff that offers the first explanation for the official’s absence.

Her email states that on January 27 Tennenbaum made a comment that was “perceived as culturally insensitive.” The details of the comment are not provided, but the email says it was made during an interaction with a student.

No matter the outcome of the investigation, Tennenbaum says she will take cultural sensitivity training.

Tennabaum and Pickerington North High School principal, Mark Ulbrich had both been temporarily reassigned to work at district's administrative office for what the district calls non-related complaints.

The statement says the results of the investigation will be reviewed by the superintendent and the Bboard of education for an appropriate resolution.

The district has not provided more information about the suspension of Mark Ulbrich, who is a principal at Pickerington High School North. They say the incidents are unrelated.
