Former Ohio State football player De'van Bogard has died in a fire in northeast Ohio.
The Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports the former defensive back was found dead inside an apartment when firefighters entered early Tuesday morning.
Bogard was a standout at Cleveland’s Glenville High School before coming to Ohio State in 2012 as part of Urban Meyer's first recruiting class. He was a member of the 2014 national championship team and played in 22 games before his career was derailed by injuries.
He was most recently working as an assistant high school football coach in Elyria.
