Memorial Health has opened a new inpatient facility in Marysville. On Tuesday, the health system transferred patients to the new building, which includes a critical care and transitional care unit.
Memorial Health vice president Spence Fisher says the Marysville Inpatient Pavillion affords patients better care.
“For instance in the inpatient building, all of the rooms are now private,” Fisher says. “So that means the patient has their own shower, bathroom, the rooms have much more natural light coming into them, and they’re situated better for family members who come in to visit.”
In addition to added privacy for patients and their families, all the inpatient rooms in the new facility are considered universal.
“Which means it can be used for a medical/surgical room for your lower acuity patients, all the way up to an ICU room,” Fisher says. “So every room in the building could be used if needed as an ICU room.”
He says the new building has the same number of rooms as the old building, but since the rooms are universal they offer more efficiency.
The hospital system is also opening a new outpatient facility November 9 that includes a wellness center for cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation on the third floor.
“It’s a three-story building,” Fisher says. “First two floors is relocation of specialty care clinic: oncologists, GI, neurologists, medication therapy.”
Together, the projects cost $56 million total.
