Ohio State University officials say three students were slashed with a box cutter near the Columbus campus early Wednesday morning.

Police say the incident happened near the intersection of North High Street and Lane Avenue around 12:40 a.m.

In an emailed statement, a university spokesman said “this incident started as an altercation between three students off-campus. One pulled out a box cutter which ended up causing cutting injuries to all three.”

The spokesman said there were two suspects and one victim. Police say one suspect is in custody. All three people are expected to survive.
