Watch Live: Trump Impeachment Inquiry Day 2

The Impeachment Hearings
PBS NewsHour

Marie Yovanovitch, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine who was ousted from her position, is scheduled to testify Friday in a public hearing as part of the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. ET. Watch live in the video player below. All hearings will be streamed through this video player as they arrive.

Yovanovitch is expected to testify about her ouster, which another diplomat has called a “smear” campaign against her by Trump allies.

Friday's live public hearing by the House Intelligence Committee is part of a series of hearings to determine whether Trump should be removed from office over his actions toward Ukraine.

The investigation centers on Trump’s July 25 phone call when he asked the new Ukraine president for a favor — to investigate Democrats and potential 2020 rival Joe Biden — as the White House was withholding military aid to the Eastern European nation.

Yovanovitch and others have described Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s personal lawyer, as leading what one called an “irregular channel” outside the diplomatic mainstream of U.S.-Ukraine relations.

The hearing comes the same week that two other diplomats--George Kent and William Taylor–testified that they believed Giuliani tried to dig up dirt on Biden and his son, Hunter.
