Columbus City Council plans to settle a lawsuit over a 2017 police interaction.

Ahkilah Pendergrass alleges that a police officer unlawfully entered her residence looking for an armed robbery suspect in August of last year. Perdergrass says the suspect was found and the officer ordered everyone to leave while Columbus Police waited for a search warrant.

Pendergrass says a police officer threw her to the ground during an altercation, injuring her shoulder in the process.

The city has denied liability and Pendergrass’s allegations. But Council will be awarding Pendergrass $90,000 to settle her lawsuit against the city of Columbus.
