Travel forecasts for Labor Day says many Ohioans will spend more and stay at their destinations longer compared to last year.
AAA says travelers will spend about 25 percent more this year, and stay out of town for nearly a day longer. The auto club credits at least part of the extra spending to the lowest Labor Day gas prices since 2004.
Some of the most popular in-state destinations for Labor Day include Hocking Hills, Lake Erie, and Amish Country. Out-of-state favorites include Orlando, Alaska, and Hawaii.
This is the first year in recent memory that the national AAA organization declined to estimate how many Americans will travel for Labor Day.
