Voters in the city of Newark will vote in November on whether to decriminalize certain amounts of marijuana. It comes one year after voters statewide overwhelmingly rejected a plan to legalize marijuana.
That defeat of Issue 3 helped guide the Newark effort.
The Newark measure recently approved for the November ballot would eliminate fines and jail time for the possession of up to 200 grams of marijuana.
