Overnight Storms Bring Outages, Flooding

Thousands of Central Ohio homes didn't have power early Thursday after heavy thunderstorms rolled across the region overnight. 

American Electric Power says 11,802 homes in Central Ohio didn't have electricity as of 5:45 am.

Another 5,290 homes in Ross County didn't have power.

Many areas were also dealing with flash flooding, including parts of Columbus’ Brewery District and areas near the OSU campus.

Sullivant Avenue was closed west of Central Avenue.

The northbound lane of State Route 315 was also closed north of Orange Road early Thursday because of high water.

In Delaware County, State Route 37 was closed east of Delaware near a Kroger distribution center.

In Union County, State Route 31 was closed north of Marysville between Richwood Miller Road and Turner Road.
