For the second year the Ohio State University Board of Trustees has frozen in-state tuition, mandatory fees and the cost of room and board.

The university has held a freeze on in-state tuition for undergraduate students since 2012-13, at $10,036.80. That price will be continued into next year and is expected to benefit more than 75 percent of undergraduate students.

The cost for housing will remain at $6,130 to $7,876 annually. In addition the meal plan will remain flat, ranging between $3,700 to $4,516. The freeze on these amenities is expected to affect more than 25 percent of undergraduate students.

The cost for student health insurance has risen by 7.8 percent for U.S. students and 16 percent for international students. While health insurance is mandatory to attend OSU, students have the option to obtain coverage from an outside providers. About 87 percent of students rely on outside insurance plans and many are covered as dependents on their parents' healthcare plans.
