In an interview appearing in the June edition of 614 Magazine, Pearson said he’s gay, even though he never wanted to be. Pearson told the magazine a weight has been lifted, and he’s never felt to free.
He told the magazine:
Most of us reach at least one pivotal moment in our lives that better defines who we are. These last several months have been the hardest—but also have ended up being the most freeing months—of my life. To make an extremely long story short, I have come to be able to admit to myself, and to my family, that I am gay.
Pearson says he sought the advice of pastors before coming out, and ended his eight-year marriage when he realized he couldn’t be the man his wife needed him to be.
