Annie Glenn, the wife of former U.S. senator and astronaut John Glenn, is among the Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame's latest inductees.
The inductees honored Thursday in Columbus include a Steubenville librarian and the director emeritus of the National Aviation Hall of Fame. The lone posthumous induction this year was for publicist Al Abrams, of Findlay, who helped launch Motown Records.
Glenn is recognized for her advocacy of speech and hearing therapy after overcoming a stuttering problem in her 50s. Her husband was previously inducted.
The hall honors individuals age 60 and older who are native-born Ohioans or who have been Ohio residents for at least 10 years. Nominations are evaluated on the impact of current contributions or a continuation of work and accomplishments started before age 60.
