The competition for ride-share business in Columbus is increasing, as Lfyt says it’s returning to the city.
The app-based company left Columbus last year after the city passed rules requiring drivers to be licensed by the city, pay a $35 fee, and undergo a background check.
Those city-passed rules were nullified by a state law passed late last year.
The company says in a statement:
We’re very excited to relaunch Columbus, and as the first rideshare to form partnerships with both CMH and LCK airports, we’re thrilled that the people of Columbus will be able to use Lyft’s rides to get around town and to the airports safely. We thank city, state, and airport leaders for their collaborative efforts in bringing modern transportation options like Lyft to the city of Columbus and its airports.
