Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that 15 suspects in drug cases involving heroin, cocaine and marijuana no longer face charges, after the death of former Reynoldsburg Police Officer Ty Downard.
Downard killed himself while in the Delaware County jail after being charged on federal counts of possession of drugs with intent to distribute. O’Brien says that in light of those charges, it raises enough doubt on whether there could be a fair prosecution in the cases involving Downard.
