Kasich Goes Into Super Tuesday As Heavy Underdog

WOSU

Ohio Gov. and Republican presidential candidate John Kasich campaigns this morning in the Super Tuesday state of Virginia before heading to Mississippi later today.

Kasich has said he doesn't expect to do very well in the 13 states that hold their presidential primaries or caucuses on Tuesday. But he also says he's staying in the race until at least Ohio's March 15 primary, which he says he will win.

So why would Kasich stay in a race that he's all but certain to lose? It could come down to a possible rift at the GOP convention.

For more, WOSU's Steve Brown spoke to Ohio State University political scientist Paul Beck.
