Ohio State officials have chosen Archie Griffin’s replacement to head the OSU Alumni Association. Sports marketing industry veteran Jim Smith will become president and CEO of the association March 21st.
Smith earned a master’s degree from OSU in 1991. Currently he’s a vice president with the Atlanta Falcons. Smith was general manager of the Columbus Crew from 2000 to 2004. Before that he served a five-year stint as associate director of Ohio State athletics.
Smith’s appointment must be approved by the university’s board of trustees.
