Delaware County Police Chief Indicted On Theft In Office Charges

Village of Shawnee Hills

A Delaware County police chief faces theft in office charges after being indicted by a grand jury on Tuesday.

Shawnee Hills police chief Sean LeFever has been on paid leave since August. Officials in the village just north of Dublin say the investigation centers around work-time reporting.

“The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint in July that Chief LeFever had received improper compensation,” said Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien in an emailed statement.

“The indictment today outlines four counts of theft in office – all fifth-degree felonies.”

The emailed statement said an arraignment date had not been set.
