Yesterday was the deadline to file for the March primary for elected offices in Franklin County.  There are a few familiar names opposing incumbents.

In races for the Franklin county commission, incumbent Paula Brooks will face former Columbus City Council president Mike Mentel.  Current Commissioner John O'Grady has also filed for re-election.   And the son of another Columbus City Council president is throwing his hate in the ring.  Gerry Hammond also seeks a spot on the 3-member county commission.

Democratic city councilman, Zach Klein has filed to run to be the next Franklin County prosecutor.  He’ll face long time prosecutor, Republican Ron O’Brien.

Meanwhile, Franklin County Sheriff Zach Scott will also face opposition in his re-election bid.  He'll face retried Columbus police lieutenant Dallas Baldwin in the primary.
