A former Pike County sheriff’s deputy already charged in the shooting death of his neighbor faces murder charges from a police-involved shooting in March. 31-year-old Joel Jenkins is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the shooting of his neighbor last week.

A grand jury on Thursday charged Jenkins with murder in the March shooting of Robert Rooker, who reportedly didn’t stop when Jenkins and other deputy tried to pull him over.

Last week, Jenkins charged with involuntary manslaughter in a neighbor's fatal shooting at the deputy's home on December 3.

Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader says the deputy was off-duty at the time of Thursday's shooting. Reader says Jenkins apparently was showing off a gun and it fired, shooting a 40-year-old man in the head.
