Propane Prices Plummet Ahead Of Winter

Propane prices are about a third of what they were in January 2014, when subzero temperatures help fuel a shortage.

If you heat your home with propane, you'll probably have some extra money this winter.

Two years after a winter that sent propane prices above $3 per gallon, prices are about a third of that, and experts say the winter forecast and a favorable growing season should help fight off any price hikes or shortages in the winter months.

For more on the recent price drop, WOSU's Steve Brown spoke with Scott Potter, an advisor in Ohio State University's Office of Energy and Environment.
