Heartland Bank plans to renovate the original Port Columbus Terminal on East Fifth Avenue and move its headquarters to the site. Officials revealed their plans yesterday that will include the hangar and cost about $6 million.
Up to 150 bank employees will work at offices inside the original terminal and the hangar.
A terminal preservation group had already raised $100,000 to remove mold and damaged drywall. That work began earlier this month.
The terminal opened at the East Fifth Avenue site in 1929 after aviator Charles Lindbergh selected the location following his successful solo flight to France in 1927.
