An Ohio Senate panel that's reviewing the state budget proposal is expecting to get ideas on how to change it.
Senate Finance Chairman Scott Oelslager told reporters that Wednesday is the deadline for proposed amendments to the $71.5 billion, two-year spending blueprint.
The chairman says he expects a revised budget bill to come before the committee on June 8, with the full Senate voting on the measure during the following week.
Senate Democrats say they will offer changes to allow independent home health care and child-care workers under contract with the state to unionize. Their proposal comes after Republican Gov. John Kasich on Friday rescinded a pair of directives issued by his predecessor that allowed those workers to unionize.
The budget must be in place by June 30.
