Franklin County Municipal Court Judge David Tyack Thursday set bond at $50,000 dollars for former OSU Drum Major Stewart Kitchen.
Kitchen is charged with the alleged rape and kidnapping of a 19 year old OSU student on April 15th. He is on paid administrative leave from his School of Music job at OSU.
Columbus Police allege Kitchen invited the student to his Indianola Avenue house and then forced her to have sex. Investigators say she asked Kitchen to take her home several times but he refused.
A preliminary hearing is set for May 8th. Kitchen's attorney, Thomas Hayes, says he expects to enter not guilty pleas to the first degree felony charges.
Kitchen was head drum major for the OSU Marching band in 2006 and 2007. His arrest comes at a time when the federal Department of Education is monitoring OSU's handling of three other sexual assaults in the band since 2011.
