Former Ohio governor Ted Strickland is jumping back into the political arena. The Democrat announced this morning he will challenge Republican Rob Portman next year for his seat in the U.S. Senate. A release from Strickland says hes determined to restore the American Dream for working people in this country. Strickland says his run for the U.S. Senate will focus on expanding job and educational opportunities for average people. The Ohio Republican Party immediately launched the web site Ted Failed Ohio.com, which they say shows many of Stricklands failures as governor from 2007 to 2011. Rob Portman issued a statement, saying "I welcome Governor Strickland back to Ohio and look forward to a candid exchange of ideas during this critical time for so many in our state."
