Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush's decision to "explore" a run for president likely will affect Governor Kasich's decision making in a potential bid for the GOP nomination. A new national poll of Republican voters indicates Kasich has some work to do to increase his name recognition; Kasich barely registers in the survey. The Monmouth University poll is a little unique in that survey takers did not list possible candidates. They just asked participants which Republican they would like to see as the nominee for president. Mitt Romney topped the field with eight percent.. Ben Carson and Chris Christie were next at seven percent. Jeb Bush came in next at six percent. John Kasich finished 15th, with less than one percent of the respondents naming him with out being prompted. There is good news for Governor Kasich - 37 percent remain undecided. In other polls where survey takers listed his name, John Kasich does a little better - coming in at two or three percent. Link to Monmouth University Poll
