Bus-Truck Crash Victim Identified As Ohio State University Intern

Police have identified the victim of fatal crash near the Ohio Statehouse as 21-year-old Ohio State engineering student Stephanie Fibelkorn. Fibelkorn had been interning with the city of Columbus. She was headed to a meeting Friday with a boss, 58-year-old Bill Lewis, Columbus' chief mobility engineer, when she was struck and killed by a school bus. Bystanders said the bus was struck by a pickup truck that ran a red light and forced into a nearby intersection. The truck was reportedly missing a tire. Authorities are investigating. Fibelkorn was killed and Lewis was taken to a downtown hospital in critical condition. A passenger in the truck and the female bus driver also were injured. None of the children on the bus was hurt.
