Ohio State University president Michael Drake says he knew nothing about the band scandal brewing when he took over his university position. On WOSUs All Sides With Ann Fisher, Drake says he wished the matter had been dealt with before he started his presidency. "It was something that I would have encouraged my colleagues to have addressed before I arrived because it didn't give me much of a chance to establish a baseline to know people," Drake said. Drake declined to discuss specifics of the firing of Ohio State marching band director Jon Waters citing pending litigation. He said its been a very unfortunate thing to deal with.
