A new report says Ohio prison inmates are performing less community service. The analysis by the Correctional Institution Inspection Committee says total community service hour by Ohio inmates fell 23 percent from 2009 to 2013. The report says most of the decrease came from a dramatic reduction in the number of guards leading outside work crews. Those positions were cut in favor of security inside prisons. The report says the womens prison in Marysville reported the highest number of community service hours during that time, with the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville reporting the fewest.
