Early Voting in Ohio Begins Tuesday

Today is the last day to register to vote in Ohio. "Early voting does start tomorrow. That's not going to change. You have to be registered by 9 o'clock tonight in order to be eligible for the November General Election," Ben Piscitelli of the Franklin County Board of Elections explained. Last month federal court judge Peter Economus ruled that cuts be restored to early voting hours in Ohio. That decision was upheld by the sixth circuit court of appeals. But with 16 hours before early voting was to begin, the U. S. Supreme Court granted an emergency plea from state officials to block the lower court's ruling. So far, Piscitelli says there have been 50,000 fewer voters requesting absentee ballots than there were in 2010.
