Drones Forecast To Be Economic Boost to Springfield

Drones or what’s also known as U.A.V.’s- unmanned aerial vehicles are getting more attention, while they wait further approval from the Federal Aviation Administration. Sometimes the attention is negative. Recently, a UAV forced a medical helicopter in Miami Valley to postpone its landing when the unmanned vehicle got too close to a hospital. City leaders in Springfield though see the UAV’s as economic opportunities. That’s why they are partnering with the Ohio/Indiana Unmanned Aircraft Systems Center and the Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport.
