Columbus Soldier, Reynoldsburg Reservist Killed In Afghanistsan

Military officials say a soldier based at Fort Bragg and a civilian worker for the Department of Defense have been killed in Afghanistan. The department said Wednesday that 41-year-old Maj. Michael J. Donahue, 41, of Columbus, Ohio, and 39-year-old Stephen Byus of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, died on Tuesday in Kabul of wounds suffered from an enemy attack. Donahue was assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Byus was a member of the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime in Columbus, Ohio, working as a supply specialist. He was assigned to the Combined Security Transition Command Afghanistan while deployed.
