Home Sales In Central Ohio Getting Hotter This Summer

More home buyers in Central Ohio are closing the deal. Home sales in Central Ohio rose last month by more than 11 percent compared to May. However, the figures were down more than 3 percent from June of last year. The Columbus Realtors Multiple Listing Service reports sales of 2,856 homes and condos in June. President of Columbus Realtors, Milt Lustnauer said that the sales figures show that buyers are hungry for new inventory. "Buyer interest is still incredibly high right now, making it a terrific time to put your home on the market," said Lustnauer. The average sales price of a home in June this year was just over $201,000. That’s up about 9 percent from May and also up 2.6 percent from June of last year.
