Tornado Levels Several Homes, But No Injuries Reported

A tornado has destroyed several houses and farm buildings near Springfield, but no injuries have been reported. Officials say the possible twister touched down Wednesday evening in Greene County as strong storms moved through the state. Fire crews rescued seven people from the basement of a house that was flattened near Cedarville. Officials say all of them are OK. Greene County residents say they saw debris swirling through the air and heard a roaring sound as the storm blew in.

The National Weather Service says it will send representatives to the area Thursday to survey the storm damage and determine if it was a tornado that touched down. Forecasters say there's a continued chance of storms through Thursday morning in central Ohio.
