Accused Dayton Shooter To Appear In Court

A man charged in a shooting that wounded an employee at a Dayton veterans hospital is scheduled to appear in federal court. A spokesman for the U.S. attorney's office says prosecutors will ask a federal magistrate in Dayton on Friday to order 59-year-old Neil Moore held without bond pending trial. The former Dayton VA employee is charged with an assault count and a weapons count. A message was left for his attorney. Court documents say Moore entered an employee break room where several people were playing cards Monday and pointed a gun at them. Authorities say there was a struggle and one man was shot in the ankle. Court documents allege Moore intended to intimidate former co-workers he believed were having inappropriate relationships with his wife and daughter.
