Voters Approve Issue One, Most Local School Levies

It was a good day for school districts asking voters for money. Ten of the 14 school districts with levies on the ballot saw those tax requests passed by voters on Tuesday. Voters approved levies in Berne Union, Canal Winchester, Granville, Groveport Madison, Jonathan Alder, Johnstown, Jefferson, Madison Plains, Northridge, and North Union school districts. Levies for Liberty Union-Thurston, Logan Elm, Southwest Licking, and Walnut Township school failed yesterday. Voters also approved Issue One, letting the state continue selling bonds to pay for roads, bridges, and other local infrastructure projects. “Quite frankly, we felt we had a very good story to tell. We did our best to tell it, and the voters, I think, are showing that they, once again, support extending the program for an additional ten years," said Michael Miller with the Ohio Public Works Commission.
